How poem and especially hits cords like nothing else

I have always been a prose guy, more in conjuntion with my scientific analytical mind, which wants to see a reason for every unexplained phenomenon, including the vagaries of life.

So poem though was exciting never hit a chord, and unlike my one of my roomates Saurav. But suddenly as I grew and world tuned more grey from the black and white of adolscence, suddenly I became more and more anamoured by poem. As unlike prose which is more direct, peoem lets you imagine and fill the spaces with your imaginations and your experinces making it so much more identifiable. That is one big reason why people might not remeber prose poem and especially songs touch so many chords.
